A RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT ST. TAMMANY PARISH
GOVERNMENT'S APPLICATION FOR ASSISTANCE FROM THE
ST. TAMMANY PARISH TOURIST COMMISSION FOR THE
HOLIDAY OF LIGHTS TO BE HELD IN DECEMBER 2004 AT THE
TAMMANY TRACE CABOOSE ON KOOP DRIVE.
WHEREAS, St. Tammany Parish Government (“STP”) is committed to the annual Holiday of
Lights, a Christmas display of lights, local choirs and entertainment, which will be held in December
2004 at the Tammany Trace caboose, located on Koop Drive.
WHEREAS, STP desires to continue its partnership with Tammany Trace Foundation (“TTF”)
and the St. Tammany Parish Tourist Commission (“STPTC”) to hold this annual event which exposes
the community and outside visitors to the Tammany Trace..
WHEREAS, over 8,000 visitors attended the Holiday of Lights in December 2003.
WHEREAS, expenses for last year's event approximated $17,000.00; all funds were provided
by grants and donations and STP provided in-kind services to install and dismantle light displays..
THE PARISH OF ST. TAMMANY HEREBY RESOLVES to support STP's application for
assistance from the St. Tammany Parish Tourist Commission.
