RESOLUTION

RESOLUTION COUNCIL SERIES NO. C-1071

            RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A COOPERATIVE ENDEAVOR AGREEMENT BETWEEN ST. TAMMANY PARISH GOVERNMENT AND RECREATION DISTRICT NO. 4 FOR THE OPERATION, MAINTENANCE AND CONTROL OF THE OLD LACOMBE LIBRARY BUILDING AND JOHN DAVIS PARK, WARD 7, DISTRICT 7.

    WHEREAS, St. Tammany Parish Government owns the buildings and lands which formally housed the Lacombe Public Library on St. Mary Street, and also John Davis Park on Highway 190 in Lacombe; and

    WHEREAS, Recreation District No. 4, a political subdivision of the State, sponsors, operates and maintains recreational programs and facilities for the benefit and use of the Lacombe and Ward 7 communities; and

    WHEREAS, a cooperative endeavor agreement between the Parish and Recreation District No. 4 authorizing the Recreation District to operate, maintain and be responsible for the two facilities will benefit both parties by guaranteeing the preservation and improvement of the properties while expanding the recreational opportunities for the Lacombe and Ward 7 communities.

    THE PARISH OF ST. TAMMANY HEREBY RESOLVES to authorize the execution of a cooperative endeavor agreement between St. Tammany Parish Government and Recreation District No. 4 for the operation, maintenance and control of the Old Lacombe Library property and John Davis Park, Ward 7, District 7.

    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Parish President Kevin Davis, or his designee, is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute said cooperative endeavor agreement, on behalf of Parish Government, with Recreation District No. 4.
