WHEREAS, STPG has applied and received Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section
5311 Non-Urbanized funding through the Louisiana Department of Transportation and
Development (LADOTD) to operate demand-response public transportation services within
the designated rural areas of the Parish; and
WHEREAS, the Council on Aging St. Tammany (COAST) serving as a contracted operator to
STPG to provide demand-response public transportation services, has developed and approved a
fare policy through it's governing board to charge patrons using public transportation.
WHEREAS, COAST shall use the funds generated by fares to assist with payment of expenses
incurred to operate demand-response public transportation.
THE PARISH OF ST. TAMMANY HEREBY RESOLVES:

That COAST through approval of its Board of Directors shall on behalf of STPG
determine and set the fare policy for demand-response public transportation for
the designated rural areas of the Parish;

That COAST shall review the fare policy annually, each January, and notify
STPG and the general public of any changes prior to FTA Section 5311 grant
submittal to LA-DOTD and implementation;
3 3.
That COAST shall collect and use fares obtained to pay for operating expenses
incurred to provide demand-response rural public transportation services;
4 4.
That COAST shall maintain and provide STPG with detailed reporting of fare
revenues and expenditures.
5 5.
That the COAST Board approved the attached policy and it will be implemented
beginning July 1, 2004.
6. This resolution is applicable for the duration of the FTA Section 5311 Non-
urbanized public transportation grant awards and operating contract with COAST
unless revoked by the governing body; a copy of such revocation shall be
furnished to COAST and LA-DOTD.
