ORDINANCE TO IMPOSE A SIX (6) MONTH MORATORIUM ON
RECEIPT OF SUBMISSIONS BY THE PARISH ZONING AND
PLANNING COMMISSIONS FOR REZONING OR
RESUBDIVISION OF PROPERTY AND/OR ON THE ISSUANCE
OF PERMITS FOR CONSTRUCTION OR PLACEMENT OF
BUILDING STRUCTURES ON PROPERTY WITHIN A CERTAIN
AREA OF WARD 1, DISTRICT 1.
WHEREAS, to protect and preserve the health, safety and property interests of residents
from the adverse effects of traffic and flooding hazards resulting from intensification of development
within a certain portion of Ward 1, District 1 of St. Tammany Parish, a temporary moratorium is
necessary to allow sufficient time for review of existing land use and to formulate measures to
protect residents in and near the area more fully described within this ordinance.
THE PARISH OF ST. TAMMANY HEREBY ORDAINS that it imposes a six (6) month
moratorium on receipt of submissions by the Parish Zoning and Planning Commissions for rezoning
or resubdivision of property and/or the issuance of permits for the construction or placement of any
building structures on property within a certain area of Ward 1, District 1, as more fully described
herein and on the attached map:
REPEAL: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
EFFECTIVE DATE: This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final adoption.

A certain triangle of property bounded by LA Highway 21, LA Highway 1077
and Dummyline Road; and to also include those properties abutting the east
side of said portion of LA Hwy. 21, and those properties abutting the west side
of said portion of LA Hwy. 1077; all as further described on the vicinity map
attached hereto.

All properties which abut, in whole or in part, that portion of LA Highway 21
which extends from its intersection with LA Highway 1077 south to Bayou
DeZaire; as further described on the vicinity map attached hereto.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the moratorium herein imposed may be vacated, in
whole or in part, by Resolution of this governing body pursuant to Chapter 5, Article II, Section 5-
056.00 of the Parish Code of Ordinances.
SEVERABILITY: If any provision of this Ordinance shall be held to be invalid, such
invalidity shall not affect other provisions herein which can be given effect without the invalid
provision and to this end the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby declared to be severable.
